Two Tied after 2-under 69’s at Old Warson Country Club

Scores are coming in at Old Warson Country Club, one of 11 U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying sites, as 42 players compete for 2 spots in the field at the 2013 U.S. Open Championship at Merion GC.

Brant Peaper of Tequesta, FL is the son of a PGA Professional. His father is the golf professional at Lost Tree in North Palm Beach. He played college golf at the University of Indiana where he enjoyed success while his team competed in the shadow of the University of Illinois program in the Big 10.  Peaper finished 4th in the Florida State Amateur Championship in 2012 and also played well at the Monroe Invitational where he tied for 28th.  Peaper was named Big 10 Golfer of the week in September 2012.  Peaper posted a 2-under, 69 in his morning round at Old Warson Country Club.

Tied with Peaper after 18 holes at 2-under par is Travis Johns of Oswega, IL. Johns is a consistent top performer in the Illinois Open where he’s battled University of Illinois Golf Coach, Mike Small.  Johns works out of Medinah Country Club.  Johns made $16,126 competing in Illinois PGA events, notching two victories and a T5 finish in the Illinois PGA Championship.
