Bellerive CC Teaching Professional Brian Fogt came out firing shooting and impressive 5-under par round of 66 to capture the first Player of the Year Point Event at Persimmon Woods GC. Fogt, playing the 6700 yard, par 71 layout, competed in both the Regular & Senior Divisions and his score was good enough for victories over a large field of competitors.
In the Regular Division, Fogt claimed a 2 shot victory over the 57 player field, with Jeff Schmidt & Ryan Roy tieing for runner-up honors with 3-under par 68’s. Mike Tucker was 4th with 69 and Mike Suhre rounded out the top 5 with a round of 70.
The Senior Division boasted a field of 19 players and Brian’s 66 gave him a 4-stroke win over Persimmon Woods Charlie Stock who finished at 1-under par 70. Stock impressive score beat his age by 3 and Nash Haxel of The Quarry at Crystal Springs finished 3rd with an even par 71.
