Catherine Dolan of Ballwin, MO fired a second round 71 to assume the top spot in the 75th Missouri Women’s Golf Association Championship. Dolan won the title in 2011 and will be looking to fend off 9-time champion, Ellen Port on Thursday’s final round at Old Kinderhook GC.
Port struggled in her second round posting a 77 to go with her first round 71 and will start the final round 4 shots off the pace set by Dolan.
Also in the mix heading into the final round is McCall Christopher after posting back to back rounds of 73. Katrina Choate joins Christopher at +4 for the championship, 2 back of Dolan with 18 holes to play.
Port tees off at 9:50am with Brooke Cusumano (+11) of WingHaven Country Club and Missouri’s Laura Kraft (+15). Playing in the second to last pairing may prove beneficial for Port if she is able to get off to a fast start and make a dent in the 4 shot gap between her and the leader.
