Members of the PGA Tour will be voting this week to award the PGA Tour Player of the Year Award. Coming into the Tour Championship, the discussion around Player of the Year involved three players believed to have a shot at winning the award.
Tiger Woods and his five victories led the threesome which included two players with Major Championship titles on their 2013 resume. Mickelson, who won 3 times and most notably the Open Championship and Adam Scott who won twice in 2013, including the Masters.
But in light of the remarkable finish by Henrik Stenson to his 2013 season, some are questioning whether or not he should round out the foursome of players to be considered for the season ending Player of the Year award. Stenson won twice, most notably the Tour Championship and $10M Fed Ex Cup title. Stenson matched Woods with 8 Top 10’s with Stenson playing two more events than Woods in 2013.
