PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. – The No. 9 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team recorded a 12th place finish at the Guy Harvey Invitational, hosted by Nova Southeastern, and held Monday-Tuesday at the PGA National.
The Tritons shot rounds of 293, 304 and 296 en route to posting a team score of 893. Top-ranked and defending national champion Barry won the team title with an 854 (290-276-288), defeating No. 4 ranked Lynn (296-282-283 – 861) in the 16-team field.
Senior Warren Crow was the top finisher for UMSL, carding a 218 (73-72-73) to tie for 23rd place. Sophomore Colby Yates followed in a tie for 40th place with a 224 (73-74-77), while senior Joe Atkisson shot a 225 (73-77-75), tying for 44th place. Rounding out the top five were freshman Julien de Poyen (74-81-71 – 226; T48th place) and sophomoreAnthony Cope (79-81-81 – 241; 77th place).
Senior Justin Hyun (78-79-72 – 229; T56th place) and freshman Matt Barry (81-73-79 – 233; T68th place) competed as individuals.
Barry’s Adam Svensson and Mario Beltran were co-medalists of the event, each shooting a five-under par 211.
UMSL returns to the links on Monday and Tuesday, when they host the Midwest Regional at Fox Run in Eurkea, Mo.
